Class definitions
It has been found useful to assign class numbers, from 0 to 9, to different aircraft movements. In general, these are based upon the identification of the aircraft callsign or registrationidentifier. Two special cases are of an aircraft which has not emitted any callsign (class 0) and one which has emitted a callsign, plus other information, but which has not been identified as any of the classes 1-8.
The definitions of classes 1-8 are :-
| 1 | Aircraft of flights of a regular airline having scheduled passenger services to or from Geneva |
| 2 | Aircraft of flights of a regular airline having scheduled passenger services, but not to or from Geneva |
| 3 | Non-scheduled Swiss airlines (charter, private business aviation) using a callsign allocated by the ICAO |
| 4 | Non-scheduled non-Swiss airlines (charter, private business aviation) using a callsign allocated by the ICAO |
| 5 | Not yet assigned |
| 6 | Private aviation, unknown country registration |
| 7 | Private aviation, but registered in Switzerland |
| 8 | Private aviation, registered outside Switzerland |
